I want to tell you about the amazing parts of Taekwondo tournaments. It is widely known that Taekwondo is a traditional Korean martial art, and Korea is well known for winning many gold medals in this sport during the Olympic Games. Imagine that you are in a Taekwondo tournament. If you win a gold medal in a tournament, it can help you qualify for the Olympics. I will never forget the first Taekwondo tournament I participated in. I could not sleep the night before the tournament because I was so excited. I prepared very hard, hoping to win many gold medals, so that I could have a better chance of getting closer to the Olympics. In the end, the result was pretty good. I won one gold medal in sparring, one gold medal in board breaking, and one silver medal in form. Through participating in Taekwondo tournament, I learned how to prepare for competitions, strengthen my body, and earn medals.
First, I have to prepare for the tournaments. I need to prepare for these because if I don’t, I won’t get a gold medal. To prepare, I need to practice because if you practice a lot, you have a better chance of getting a medal. Next, you need to memorize the form because showing good form is an important part in the tournament. Additionally, you have to get your gear due to the fact that if you do not have it, you cannot compete in the tournament. These are some reasons why you need to prepare for the tournaments.
Second, you have to have Body Strength. You need body strength for proper form, sparring, and board breaking. To begin, you need speed because during sparring you have to be super fast, so your opponent does not hit you. Then, you have to be flexible, so you can dodge attacks. Lastly, powerful kicking is important for board breaking. For example, having a powerful kick is important in order to break the board. This is why having body strength is important.
Finally, these skills are needed to get a medal. First, you have to be 1st, 2nd, or 3rd because there are only gold, silver, and bronze medals. You can also get a gold medal in sparring if you score more points. Additionally, you can earn a gold medal by memorizing the form correctly and breaking the boards. These are some ways how you can get a gold medal.
In conclusion, I learned how to prepare for competitions, strengthen my body, and earn medals through my experience in a Taekwondo tournament. Participating in a Taekwondo tournament was an amazing experience for me. Taekwondo is a beautiful traditional Korean martial art. I am very proud to practice Taekwondo and prepare for competitions, strengthen my body, and earn medals. I wish you can experience the same excitement and pride through Taekwondo.
