Hana hosts awards ceremony for arts competition to celebrate day for people with disabilities

Hana Financial Group hosted the awards ceremony for its art competition, Hana Artverse, on Friday in celebration of the National Day of Persons with Disabilities, which falls annually on April 20.
 
Some 1,255 artists with developmental disabilities participated in the three-month competition, which ran through February. A total of 30 winners were selected, and they shared the prize money totaling 10.2 million won ($6,900). Their works will be featured in collaborations with a range of brands, including Puma and Monami.

“We will take the lead in providing unwavering support and full backing to discover talented artists with developmental disabilities and to build a virtuous cycle that fosters their social growth and economic independence,” said Hana Financial Group Chairman Ham Young-joo in a statement.
 
Launched in 2022, Hana’s annual event is held for artists with developmental disabilities and is one of the company’s flagship social contribution programs. The artworks of the winners will be displayed at a gallery on the first floor of Hana Bank’s headquarters through Friday and will be displayed at Hana’s art space Ha.art1 in central Seoul from May 4 through May 15.
