Hana Financial Group is rolling out a humanitarian support program for Koreans in the Middle East who are affected by the Iran conflict, including daily necessities and relief packages.

Hana Bank, a key affiliate of the group, is establishing a pre-emptive response system based on multiple scenarios as military tensions escalate in the Middle East. The bank will provide emergency special financial support to help stabilize the management of companies affected by the conflict, the company noted in a press release Monday.

The bank plans to supply a total of 12 trillion won ($8.25 billion) in funding to provide urgent liquidity for affected companies, offering up to 500 million won per company.

The bank also plans to support affected domestic companies by extending maturities on loans coming due by up to one year, deferring installment repayments by up to six months and cutting lending rates by up to 1 percentage point.

The support targets companies operating in the Middle East, companies that have had or are scheduled to have import and export transactions with the region since January 2025 and other affected firms, including partner suppliers linked to those companies.

“We will do everything we can as a group to help Koreans and businesses affected by this unexpected geopolitical turmoil regain stability as quickly as possible,” noted Ham Young-joo, chairman of Hana Financial Group. “We will continue to uphold our role as a financial group committed to social responsibility.”

Hana Bank is also launching a rapid response task force for the Iran conflict to strengthen monitoring of conflict zones and provide swift and proactive support.
