Incheon, Hana Bank open community hub for foreign residents

Hana Bank and Incheon Metropolitan City have opened a new community hub in Incheon that provides financial education, daily life support and free medical services for foreign residents, the bank announced on Wednesday. 
  
The facility, named the Incheon Hana Global Culture Bank, sits on the second floor of Hana Bank’s Namdong Industrial Complex Financial Center branch in Namdong District, Incheon. The city and the bank established the facility through a public-private partnership to support foreign residents in the area.

The Incheon Hana Global Culture Bank is near an industrial area to make it easier for foreign workers to access. It also operates on Sundays to serve customers who cannot visit on weekdays. 
  
The Incheon Hana Global Culture Bank plans to offer programs including financial fraud prevention education, training on how to use mobile banking and basic financial literacy classes.
  
A support center for foreign residents will also operate inside the facility. It will help people adjust to life in Korea, provide information about local services, offer Korean language classes and organize cultural programs. 
 
Every Sunday, the center will provide free medical services for foreign residents who face limited access to health care.
  
“The Hana Global Culture Bank will serve as a community hub that helps foreign residents settle in and become part of the local community,” said Kim Mi-sook, deputy president of Hana Bank’s Joongang Business Group. “We will continue to work closely with Incheon Metropolitan City to provide inclusive financial services and support for everyday needs.”
