A giant electronic billboard in Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Square is dark on April 6 as the city shortened billboard operating hours. Seoul officials said 30 large billboards in Gwanghwamun and Myeongdong will operate two fewer hours a day for five days, shifting from 6 a.m. to midnight to 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., in response to soaring oil prices tied to the situation in the Middle East.
