2026 MAMA Awards to take place in Osaka in November

The annual MAMA Awards will take place at Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan, on Nov. 20 and 21, according to its organizer CJ ENM on Tuesday.

To highlight this year's ceremony theme, “Music Makes ONE,” the award show will offer online and offline events for fans, although no specific details have been announced.

The award show will be livestreamed globally through Mnet Plus, an online K-pop streaming platform also operated by CJ ENM.

The MAMA Awards first started as the Mnet Music Video Festival in 1999 and was the first Asian music award show in Korea. The award show won Best General Entertainment Programme at the 2025 Asian Academy Creative Awards.

Last year's ceremony took place at Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong on Nov. 28 and 29, during which singer G-Dragon won Artist of the Year and boy band Stray Kids won Album of the Year for “Karma” (2025). Song of the Year went to “APT.” (2024) by Blackpink's Rosé and Bruno Mars.
