A dispute over online streaming rights for The Boyz’s upcoming concert has escalated into a legal battle, with the group’s agency and a tech company offering conflicting claims over a canceled contract and concerns about service reliability.
"We signed an exclusive contract for online concert streaming with The Boyz's agency One Hundred Label and made a payment, but despite this contract, we received a unilateral notice of refusal to proceed with the project from One Hundred Label, and it subsequently opened ticket sales for the concert streaming with another company,” said tech company Knowmerce in a statement released Wednesday.
The tech company, which held the rights to livestream The Boyz’s upcoming concert “Inter-zection,” had been preparing to deliver the online service to viewers.
However, Knowmerce announced that it will issue full refunds to online streaming purchasers with just 10 days remaining before the concerts. The concerts are scheduled to take place on April 24, April 25 and April 26 at KSPO Dome in southern Seoul.
“Although we are the legal rights holder of the project, we will immediately suspend sales of access to the concert livestream and provide full refunds to all purchasers to prevent confusion among the artist and fans," Knowmerce said.
One Hundred Label, on the same day, stated that Knowmerce’s claims do not reflect the facts, and said protecting fans’ concert experience is its top priority.
“Knowmerce previously caused significant service disruptions on its fandom platform ‘Fromm’ during livestream, even with a relatively small number of concurrent users — around 1,000 — due to serious server issues,” One Hundred Label said through a news release. “Despite requests from us to address these problems, no meaningful improvements were made.”

The agency argued that proceeding with the project using an unstable system would have been both a disservice to fans and a failure in management, particularly for a large-scale event expected to draw far more concurrent viewers.
“We decided to partner with a provider that utilizes MBC’s highly stable broadcasting system to ensure fans can enjoy high-quality, uninterrupted streaming,” it said. “This was not merely a change of vendor, but a reasonable and professional management decision aimed at safeguarding fans’ viewing rights and ensuring the quality of the performance.”
Regarding communication with the tech company, the agency claimed that Knowmerce “refused to communicate properly and maintained an uncooperative attitude throughout,” calling it a “clear breach of contract.”
One Hundred Label also cited the forensic review of KakaoTalk messages with Knowmerce’s head in response to the company’s claims, noting that “many of them differ from the actual facts.”
“Based on the evidence already secured, we plan to pursue all available civil and criminal legal actions and will see the matter through to the end to uncover the truth and protect the artist and fans,” said One Hundred Label.
The dispute comes amid an ongoing contract conflict between the band and its agency. Last month, One Hundred Label rejected the members’ request to terminate their exclusive contracts, while the group’s legal representative disagreed with the agency’s position.
