BTS has released a remix collection of “Swim,” the lead track from the boy band’s fifth full-length album “Arirang,” featuring multiple versions reflecting the individual styles of its members.
The seven-track remix album, “Keep Swimming,” was released on Friday, BTS's agency BigHit Music said.
It contains the original version of “Swim,” which was released on March 20 as the lead track of the band’s first studio album in nearly six years, and an instrumental version.
For his remix, RM has reworked the song into a chill hip-hop track, giving it a “softer and more subdued” tone, BigHit Music said.
Jin delivers an alternative rock arrangement, combining Brit rock and punk rock elements to add a “forceful energy," while Suga offers is a melodic techno version built on layered club sounds.
J-Hope’s remix draws on the Afrobeat genre and is led by Latin-influenced guitar and piano. Jimin’s slow-jam R&B take incorporates the guitar, keyboards and drums.
V’s electronic arrangement features a prominent bass and altered textures, while Jungkook’s acoustic lo-fi version centers on the guitar and softer vocals, according to BigHit Music.
Following the release of “Arirang,” BTS held its first performance in almost four years at Gwanghwamun Square in central Seoul last Saturday.
“BTS the Return,” a film documenting the members’ preparations for the album, will premiere on Netflix on Friday.
The members are set to embark on their “Arirang” world tour, starting with three concerts at the Goyang Stadium in Gyeonggi in April.
