Shinsegae signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Heritage Service at Changdeok Palace in Jongno District, central Seoul, on Thursday to preserve and promote national heritage and expand public engagement with it.

The agreement is intended to give the public and international visitors more opportunities to become familiar with and experience national heritage by showcasing its beauty and value through digital content, a range of utilization programs and related products.

Key areas of cooperation include preserving, promoting and exhibiting national heritage, jointly producing digital content on national heritage and using promotional platforms such as Shinsegae Square, as well as developing heritage programs and related products.

Since 2024, Shinsegae has worked with the Korea Heritage Service to introduce Korean heritage through Shinsegae Square, the giant digital signage screen installed at the main branch of Shinsegae Department Store in Myeongdong, central Seoul.

The two organizations plan to continue close cooperation based on their respective expertise and build a sustainable collaboration model that enhances the cultural and economic value of a wide range of national heritage assets.

“We are very pleased to create a new model of cooperation with the Korea Heritage Service to promote the value of Korea’s national heritage more widely,” said Park Joo-hyung, CEO of Shinsegae. “Through this memorandum of understanding, Shinsegae will continue to introduce the value of national heritage in a variety of ways and work to help more people experience it up close.”
