During his meeting with Michael Harris, vice chairman and global head of capital markets at NYSE, Kim expressed hope that the two sides will continue close communication to support the development of the capital markets in Korea and the United States.
In response, Harris highlighted President Lee Jae Myung's hosting of the Korea Investment Summit on Wall Street last year as an important signal indicating the direction of Korea's capital markets.
In September last year, Lee convened the session with global investors and Korean corporate leaders on Wall Street during his trip to New York to attend the U.N. General Assembly, as part of efforts to help boost momentum for the Korean stock market.
Harris noted that the summit left a strong impression on Wall Street and global investors, saying the NYSE will consider what benefits it could offer to Korean firms.
