Prime Minister Kim Min-seok is likely to visit New York later this week to help Korea's efforts to host a UN hub for AI-related projects, multiple government sources said Tuesday.
The visit is being arranged for as early as Thursday, with Kim planning to visit the UN headquarters for talks on the initiative, according to the sources.
Kim is set to preside over a task force meeting on bringing the hub to Korea later Tuesday.
This will mark the prime minister's second visit to the United States in as many months. On his previous trip, he met with U.S. Vice President JD Vance in Washington.
The prime minister could use the upcoming trip to meet senior U.S. government officials over tariffs and other pending issues between the two countries.
