Singer Winter of girl group aespa has donated 200 million won ($133,600) to children suffering from global conflicts and patients from underprivileged families, her agency SM Entertainment said Thursday.
Winter donated 100 million won each to Unicef Korea and the patient happiness fund at Samsung Medical Center — a program that supports patient care and treatment for those in financial hardship.
“I hope those who have lost their daily lives for various reasons around the world can return to a peaceful routine as soon as possible,” Winter said. “I decided to donate to share the love I received from fans in a meaningful way.”
Winter has continued her charitable efforts in recent years. She donated 100 million won to support victims of wildfires in the Gyeongsang region last year. With Thursday's donation, Winter also joined Unicef's Honours Club, a group of individual donors who contribute large sums.
Winter made her debut with aespa alongside fellow members Karina, Giselle and Ningning on Nov. 17, 2020, with its first digital single “Black Mamba.”
aespa will continue its “2025–26 aespa Live Tour — SYNK: aeXIS Line — Asia” with a performance at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition in Jakarta, Indonesia, on April 4.
