P1Harmony is taking on Brazilian funk — a booming, energetic and often explicit genre — for the first time with “Unique,” the title track of its upcoming EP.
The EP, set to drop at 6 p.m. on Thursday, is P1Harmony’s ninth domestic release. The band's eighth EP in Korea, “DUH!,” came out in May 2025, and its first English EP “EX” hit shelves in September of last year. The group has previously experimented with Latin-pop on its seventh EP, “Sad Song” (2024).
The band’s six members expressed their excitement about sharing their new funk carioca sound with fans in a written questionnaire released by their agency FNC Entertainment ahead of the EP’s release.
The title track “Unique” is described by FNC Entertainment as a Brazilian funk-inspired song featuring intense sounds and heavy drum beats, delivering a message of “unfiltered confidence in [the group’s] crew and the strength that comes from standing together.”
If all that doesn't convince listeners to give it a spin, member Jiung says the track is bound to be an earworm anyway.
“It has a rhythm that instantly sticks with you, so I think a lot of people will naturally find themselves nodding along to the beat,” the rapper said. “The performance is also powerful and captivating, so I hope people will check out the stage as well."
According to Soul, the band’s Japanese rapper, the members will be working with many dancers to show a “fuller and more impressive performance” for the track on stage.

Members also recommended several B-sides from the EP.
Intak pointed to “Triple 7” for its energetic vibe and attention-grabbing intro, noting it would be especially great to listen to while working out. Jongseob, meanwhile, recommended “ICE (VVS)” as a track he thinks would be particularly fun to perform at concerts and enjoy together with fans.
“Even though we tried various genres, we focused on making it feel naturally connected as one cohesive work,” Keeho said while talking about the members’ approach to writing songs for the EP.
“We’ve always tried to present new and unique rap styles, but this time we approached it even more creatively,” said Intak.

Jongseob is gunning for a top 5 listing for “Unique” on the Billboard 200 chart, a weekly ranking of albums and EPs.
Keeho said he likes the band being described as “underdogs” – that they’ve “worked hard up until now and still have more heights to reach.”
Other members are just happy to be along for the ride.
“I hope we can share the same emotions with P1ece and create many happy memories together,” Theo said, in a shoutout to the band’s official fan club.
