Singer Yuju, best known as the main vocalist of girl group GFriend, is back with her fourth EP "file. 07," an album that talks about unfinished feelings and relationships.
The six-track EP comes out Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Yuju wrote and composed every song on the EP, including the lead track "Mije," which is Korean for an unsolved case. The other tracks include "Love Gamer," "SOS" and "Rock Bottom."
Notably, all the songs on the EP are listed not as a "track" but as a "file."
"This is the first time I listed the songs as files instead of tracks," Yuju said in a press release provided by her agency, At Area, on Wednesday. "I worked on each song as if they were an unsolved case file, and I hope the music stays with listeners for a long time, like a cold case."
Yuju said she paid most attention to the lyrics writing.
"A melody can change a little as long as it stays within a certain frame, but lyrics reach the listener exactly as they are, letter by letter," Yuju said. "So I was careful to express the emotions I intended."
She also recorded all the songs without a vocal director, and worked out on her own how to voice each track.

“Figuring out what kind of vocals to use for each song and fighting that battle on my own was a fun process,” Yuju said.
Asked about an unfinished feeling of her own, Yuju pointed to her GFriend members.
There are many, but I think my members are an unfinished feeling for me too," she said. "We have walked together for so long that we still burst out laughing just by making eye contact. But as we each stay busy in our own places, we do not get to see each other often.
"And sometimes I feel a longing I cannot explain."
Yuju debuted as a member of GFriend under Source Music with the EP "Season of Glass" (2015). The group is known for hit songs "Rough" (2016), "Love Whisper" (2017) and "Navillera" (2016). All six members of the group left the agency when their contracts ended in 2021. Yuju made her solo debut in January 2022, and her third EP "In Bloom" was released in August last year.
