Stray Kids’ Han donated 100 million won ($74,400) to support children who have experienced abuse and those in residential care on Monday, his birthday, his agency JYP Entertainment said.
“I wanted to offer some warmth and comfort to children who have been through difficult times,” Han said in a press release Monday. “I sincerely hope they can heal in a safe and caring environment and find reasons to smile again.”
The donation was made to the social welfare foundation Angels’ Haven.
Half the donation will go toward protection and psychological care for children who have experienced abuse, while the other 50 million won will help provide care and education for children at the foundation’s residential care facility in Eunpyeong District, northern Seoul.
Han also marked his birthday in 2025 with a donation to Samsung Medical Center to help cover treatment and caregiving costs for adults with serious illnesses as well as medical expenses for children and adolescents.
That same year, Han and his fellow Stray Kids members donated to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association and World Vision Korea to aid recovery efforts following wildfires in South Gyeongsang and North Gyeongsang. The band also donated to World Vision Hong Kong to help with recovery efforts following a fire in Hong Kong.
Han debuted as a member of Stray Kids in 2018 under JYP Entertainment. The eight-member boy band is known for hits including “God’s Menu” (2020), “Thunderous” (2021), “Maniac” (2022) and “Walkin on Water” (2024).
The band recently kicked off “Stray City,” a new festival tour spanning three Latin American cities, with a performance in Bogota, Colombia, on Wednesday. It is scheduled to visit Buenos Aires, Argentina and Mexico City later this month.
Stray Kids also headlined the Brazilian music festival “Rock in Rio” on Friday.
