Blackpink’s Jennie apologized to fans Monday for the girl group’s 10th anniversary celebrations.
Jennie became the fourth and final Blackpink member to issue an individual apology after fans criticized how the milestone was handled.
“Our 10th anniversary should have been a moment where we could just celebrate and be happy together, and I’m sorry that instead, some of you were left feeling disappointed,” Jennie wrote in a Weverse post on Monday afternoon. She wrote her statement in both Korean and English.
“There’s really no excuse I can give for that. Blinks [Blackpink’s fandom name] have always been one of the biggest blessings and greatest loves in Blackpink’s life. I’m sorry I couldn’t show you a better side of myself in that moment,” she continued.

Blackpink marked its 10th anniversary on with an abrupt meet and greet for 40 fans at the National Museum of Korea in Yongsan District, central Seoul, on Aug. 8, followed by a Weverse livestream. YG Entertainment — responsible for Blackpink’s group activities — announced the event just two days beforehand and initially said the four members’ appearance would depend on their individual schedules. All four members ultimately attended.
Jisoo apologized on Aug. 8, followed by Rosé on Aug. 11 and Lisa on Friday. Jennie’s statement on Monday made her the fourth and final member to apologize for the event.
Jennie said she waited until she had finished her summer festival performance schedules so she could speak “with a clearer heart.”
“I wanted to wait until I finished my last festival that was already scheduled because I felt like I could come back and speak to you with a clearer heart,” she wrote.
Jennie also thanked her fans for supporting the group.
“These past 10 years have given me some of the most special moments of my life, all because of you. Your love has been with us through every step, helping us grow and allowing us to dream even bigger for the future,” she added.
“I won’t forget everything I’ve learned and felt along the way, and I’ll keep growing and doing my best to give back all the love you’ve given me.”
Blackpink debuted under YG Entertainment on Aug. 8, 2016. The group released its third EP, “Deadline,” in February and closed a stadium world tour of the same name in Hong Kong in January.
