Kospi passes 6,557 mark, setting new intraday record

The benchmark Kospi broke above the 6,557 point, setting a new intraday record early Monday.
The Kospi stood at 6,557.14, up 81.51 points, or 1.21 percent, from the previous session, at 9:23 a.m. The index touched 6,557.78 at 9:01 a.m., topping its previous intraday high of 6,557.76 set on Thursday.
The benchmark Korean bourse had kept its winning streak to open at 6,533.60, up 57.97 points, or 0.90 percent, from the previous trading day.
