Hanwha Solutions Wire & Cable (W&C) reinforced its commitment to increasing its market share through extra-high voltage cable materials and circular solutions with a booth at WIRE 2026, the world’s largest trade fair for the industry, in Düsseldorf from April 13 to 17.

The expo offered Hanwha Solutions a chance to announce its mid- to long-term strategy and vision regarding the high-value cable materials sector. Under the slogan “Best Quality, Better Planet,” the company’s booth presented high-performing cable material technology and sustainable circular solutions, with a digital experience and staff on-hand to engage with prospective clients.

The wire and cable industry is expected to maintain strong growth on the back of rising global power demand, the energy transition and the expansion of renewable energy, particularly with wind turbines and cross-border electrical grids driving up demand for submarine and high-voltage direct current (HVDC) cables in Europe, where the company aims to expand its footprint..

Hanwha Solutions has built a high-quality product portfolio in insulation and cable sheath for long-term reliability, critical in the extra-high voltage cable material segment.

The company also unveiled its new cable model at the expo, offering a glimpse of next-generation materials, with super extra-high voltage cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) and semiconductive compounds to increase long-term reliability.

Also introduced was XLPE solutions using decrosslinking technology, presenting a potential environmentally friendly circular economics model with reused XLPE and a semiconducting material-based cable.

With the founding of a European division last year, Hanwha Solutions is aiming to increase its share of the European and North American markets, with a long-term strategy to become a top-tier cable materials supplier through its European base. The company broke into the market with product improvement based on independent technology and a key account manager to facilitate smooth collaboration with its headquarters in Korea.

The long-term plan involves a gradual expansion of the global supply chain through various avenues, including an increase in domestic supply facilities and the launch of new subsidiaries in North America, while also elevating partnerships with major construction companies, targeting an advanced profit structure in 2027 through commercialization.

With XLPE production and operational expertise, Hanwha Solutions will advance the quality of its products and increase competitiveness in high-value markets through its strategic product portfolio.

“This exhibition marks a major step in presenting Hanwha Solutions’ extra-high-voltage cable material technologies and circular solutions to the global market,” Carlo Scarlata, head of Hanwha Solutions W&C, said. “Building on our differentiated quality competitiveness and close collaboration with customers, we will accelerate our expansion in the high-value-added power cable materials segment.”
