Busan designated three hospitals as medical hubs for international students, where students can receive interpretation services, medical expense support and assistance with administrative procedures.
Busan announced that it signed memorandums of understanding on Wednesday with the three designated institutions, Good Gang-An Hospital in Suyeong District, Dong-eui Hospital in Busanjin District and Daedong Hospital in Dongnae District, as part of the initiative to strengthen its medical support system for international students.
According to the city government, the hospitals will offer interpretation services in four languages — English, Chinese, Russian and Vietnamese — and provide discounted rates for consultations, comprehensive health checkups and vaccinations.
Dong-eui Hospital and Daedong Hospital will offer additional discounts of up to 50 percent for students who participate in volunteer programs organized by the hospitals.
The hospitals will also run dedicated service desks for foreign patients, prioritize reservations for international students, issue documents in English and Russian and assist with overseas insurance claims.
International students, including those who are not covered by national health insurance, can access these services simply by presenting their student ID.
