The Study in Korea website now has a new section in which prospective students can get information about universities and different regions, the National Institute of International Education (Niied) announced on Monday.
Through the website’s Education Fair section, visitors can now explore information about various universities organized into four categories: English-taught programs, Korean language programs, junior colleges and universities grouped by region.
The section's English Track Pavilion lists universities and their English-taught programs, also showing what percentage of the program's courses are actually in English and the English proficiency requirements to apply.
The Korean Language Training Pavilion menu shows a list of universities that offer Korean language programs and their tuition, and the Junior College Pavilion lists schools offering associate degree programs and the admission requirements. The Local Government Pavilion shows universities in each region and any regional visas or postgraduation career support that students from the city can exclusively apply for.
"While we continue to actively support universities and regional governments to invite international students, we will also expand help to cover not just admissions, but also the education, career and postgraduation settlement in Korea," said Choi Kyo-jin, Minister of Education.
While Niied used to offer information about universities via the website when they were set to hold an online webinar about studying in Korea, the organization said they have made the section permanent to make it easier to get information.
For those who want to get more information, Niied is hosting the Study in Korea Education Fair webinar between April 8 and Sunday.
Forty universities are participating in the webinar, with students able to register for each university's session through the Study in Korea website. A question and answer section and online chat room will be created for each university for those who want to ask questions, and those who missed previous sessions can watch recordings through the website.
Another webinar for the second semester will take place in November.
"We will support universities and regional governments in attracting international students, helping Korea become a global study abroad destination," said Han Sang-shin, president of Niied.
