U.S. President Donald Trump has continued to frame the Iran war in assertive terms even as tensions deepen. In an April 1 address, he said U.S. forces had “crippled” Iran’s military and pointed to progress toward victory. On Monday, he warned Iran could be “taken out […] in one night” while stressing that reopening the Strait of Hormuz was a “very big priority.” He has also criticized allies, saying countries including Korea, Japan and parts of Europe have not done enough to support U.S. efforts, underscoring growing strategic isolation.
