HYBE's India branch has opened applications for a girl group, marking the company’s first public female casting drive as it moves to launch an India-based act for the global market.

The company announced the audition on Tuesday on its official social media channels. Women born between 2005 and 2011 are eligible to apply, according to the application guidelines. The audition is open across multiple categories, including vocal, rap, dance, acting and modeling.

HYBE India is the Indian subsidiary of HYBE, the Korean entertainment company managing the likes of BTS, Tomorrow X Together, Seventeen and Le Sserafim.

Applications will be accepted through July 31.

HYBE India also plans to hold in-person auditions in major Indian cities, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune. Detailed schedules for each city will be posted later on the company’s official audition website.

“The audition is a new entry point for young people in India,” said Lee Woo-chang, CEO of HYBE India. “The company has built a training and development system tailored to local conditions.”
