Boy band SF9 is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a special album filled with cozy ballads. The new album, "About Love," is a collection of support messages from the band to its fans, especially from Dawon, as this is his first album since his discharge from the military last month.
The band also released a live performance video of the album's lead track, “Love Comes Slowly,” on Wednesday, according to the band's agency, FNC Entertainment.
“We are excited to celebrate our 10th anniversary with this album,” said Chani in a press release marking the album's release on Wednesday.
The album contains seven ballads, mostly in the easy-listening genre.
"The songs are perfect for when you want to get in the mood," said Hwiyoung.
"I hope the listeners focus on the voices of the members, especially Dawon, who's been away for a long time," said Youngbin. "Each song captures a message that the members want to send, so please focus on the messages in each song as well."
The members have particularly focused on employing their musical talents to the fullest.
"I gritted my teeth throughout the recording of this album," said Jaeyoon. "I focused on fine-tuning my vocals for these emotional songs."
“We hope this album helps fans find calm during their busy daily lives,” said Dawon.
"I hope this album can show you how much more mature we have become music-wise, along with our hardworking ethic," said Inseong.
SF9 debuted on Oct. 5, 2016, under FNC Entertainment with the single “Feeling Sensation.” The band started with nine members but now consists of eight after one member, Rowoon, left the group in 2023. The current members are Yoo Tae-yang, Youngbin, Zuho, Hwiyoung, Inseong, Jaeyoon, Dawon and Chani.
SF9 is known for hits including “So Beautiful” (2016), “O Sole Mio” (2017), “Round and Round” (2019), “Good Guy” (2020) and “Puzzle” (2023).
