Girl group ILLIT marked the second anniversary of its debut on Wednesday and reflected on its journey ahead of the release of its fourth EP, “Mamihlapinatapai,” on April 30.
“It feels special to have already arrived at our second anniversary,” member Yunah said in a press release on Wednesday. “I remember when the five of us debuted together and when we celebrated our first anniversary. I’m excited for all the experiences we will continue to share as ILLIT.”
The quintet comprises Yunah, Minju, Moka, Wonhee and Iroha.
ILLIT has placed three consecutive releases on the Billboard 200, the main albums chart in the United States, from its debut EP “Super Real Me” (2024) through its third EP “bomb” (2025).
The title track “Not Cute Anymore” (2025) from its first single also ranked No. 7 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100, a chart published weekly by Billboard magazine in the United States.
The group sold out all eight of its “Glitter Day” concerts in Korea and Japan last year and has already finished the first two concerts of its first tour, “Press Start,” in Korea on March 14 and 15. The tour will head to Japan in June.
“Fans in so many countries supported us last year, so we want to meet as many of them as possible,” Minju said. “We also want to try more genres and expand our musical range.”
“I felt moved seeing GLIT [the official name of ILLIT’s fandom] fill the venue,” Iroha said. “I sincerely thank the staff and the members who worked hard together to make the Seoul concert a success.”
Moka echoed the sentiment.
“Our goal is to keep showing new sides of ILLIT so that GLIT does not get bored,” she said. “We will work hard to show an even better version of ourselves.”
