10cm promises refunds to fans after throat condition impacts Singapore show

Singer-songwriter Kwon Jung-yeol, better known by the stage name 10cm, promised full refunds to fans who attended his Singapore concert after a sudden throat condition left him unable to deliver a satisfactory performance.

“We sincerely apologize to all the fans who had been waiting for the Singapore concert and came to the venue, as we were unable to present a fully complete performance in the artist’s best condition,” the concert's organizers said in a statement on Instagram on Sunday.

All tickets will be fully refunded through Ticketmaster using the original payment method, FriedRice Entertainment said.

The singer experienced a sudden decline in his throat condition on the day of the concert Saturday and received treatment from local medical staff, according to the company.

The performance proceeded as scheduled because Kwon wanted to take the stage for fans who had been looking forward to the show, the company added.

“We will continue to closely monitor the artist's condition with medical professionals, prioritize the artist's health and safety, and do our best to ensure a swift recovery,” the statement read.

Kwon thanked "all the Centiners in Singapore for being here with us tonight. Your support and love will be deeply cherished," in a post uploaded on 10cm's official Instagram page on Saturday.

Originally a two-member act, 10cm is now Kwon’s solo indie band, known for songs such as “Stalker” (2014), “What the Spring??” (2016), “Phonecert” (2017) and “Spring Snow” (2024).

Kwon launched his Asia tour in January in Seoul. The tour includes stops in Busan, Bangkok, Singapore, Taipei and Tokyo and will run through May 3.
