Music and entertainment-tech company Dreamus Company and K-pop data firm Hanteo Global have joined forces to expand their reach in the global music market, Dreamus Company said Monday.
Dreamus Company plans to combine Hanteo Global’s K-pop data and global network with its own operations to expand its business across the music industry, including investment, production, distribution, concerts and merchandise, according to the entertainment-tech company.
Hanteo Global runs a real-time album sales tracking system based on 33 years of music data. The company also operates music charts and awards using sales data and has become a widely used source of data in the global K-pop fandom market.
Dreamus Company also plans to use Hanteo Global’s Whosfan, a global K-pop fan platform, and its global network to promote concerts and help distribute music.
“This partnership combines Dreamus Company’s music business infrastructure with Hanteo Global’s global data capabilities,” said Dreamus Company CEO Lee Ki-young. “We will present a new business model for the global music market through bold investment and partnerships. We will also work to maximize the business value of music intellectual property. ”
