Cass says ‘cheers’ to Olympic medal winters Choi Ga-on and Kim Sang-kyum

Snowboarder Choi Ga-on’s gold medal on Feb. 12 at the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics on Thursday was Korea’s first in the sport in 100 years, inspiring celebrations by fans and companies alike, with beer brand Cass, an official partner of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, commemorating the historic win.

The beer brand has marked the festivities with its “Story of Challenges” series featuring medal winners.

From Choi to veteran men’s boarder Kim Sang-kyum — the first Korean to podium in the discipline — Cass shared posts recounting each athletes’ road to the podium.

The company celebrated Choi’s success, saying, “The race that turned ‘impossible’ to ‘possible’ unfolded with a miracle on snow,” as it hailed her fighting spirit.

As soon as Kim won silver, Cass replaced its advertisements with a video featuring scenes from his win.

In the video, a voiceover praises Kim for coming only 0.19 seconds behind the gold medal winner, before depicting scenes of his post-event celebrations as he bows, with subtitles that read, “Congratulations to Kim Sang-kyum for writing a new story that can’t be forgotten. Thank you!”

The company’s approach of putting the spotlight on unforgettable moments earned praise from social media commenters, with one saying, “I was surprised how fast you spread the news,” and another writing,” “Thank you for recording the shining moments of the Olympians.”

Another official partner of the Korean Olympic committee, Bibigo maker CJ CheilJedang, joined in the celebrations with a post marking Choi’s gold on its social media with the caption: “The flight of the girl of records: Choi Ga-on wrote a new page in history.”
