The wholesale price of cabbage is expected to rise to 15,000 won ($11.25) per 10 kilograms (22 pounds), in October, a 38.4 percent rise from last year, according to a report the Korea Rural Economic Institute released Thursday.
The institute attributed the price hike to a decrease in cabbage production following high temperatures and droughts over the summer.
