Kim Ha-seong of the San Diego Padres was placed on the 10-day injured list for the first time in his career Tuesday, reversing the news from a day earlier when manager Mike Shildt said results from an imaging scan showed he could avoid an extended break.
Kim left a game against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado Sunday in visible pain after jamming his right shoulder into the bag during a dive.
Kim, the 2023 Gold Glove winner in the utility post, is in his fourth year of a four-year contract with the Padres. His injury comes with just over a month left until the MLB postseason.
