Youn Yuh-jung nominated for Primetime Emmy for role in 'Beef' Season 2

Actor Youn Yuh-jung has been nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for her role in the second season of Netflix's "Beef" (2023–).

Youn was named a nominee for outstanding supporting actress in a limited series or TV movie for the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, which announced its nominations Wednesday.

Youn plays the role of Chairman Park, a Korean billionaire who acquires a country club, in the second season of the Netflix series. She appears as the wife of Dr. Park, played by actor Song Kang-ho.

Youn became the first Korean actor to win an Academy Award in 2021 for her role in the film "Minari" (2020). In 2022, actor Lee Jung-jae became the first Korean actor to win an Emmy for lead actor for his role in the "Squid Game" (2021-25) series.

The second season of "Beef," directed by Korean American director Lee Sung-jin and partially filmed in Korea, received multiple Emmy nominations.

The series was nominated for best limited or anthology series, directing for a limited or anthology series or movie and writing for a limited or anthology series or movie.

Actor Carey Mulligan was nominated for lead actress in a limited or anthology series or movie, Oscar Issac was nominated for lead actor in a limited or anthology series or movie and Korean American actor Charles Melton was nominated for supporting actor in a limited or anthology series or movie.

The first season of "Beef" won eight Emmy Awards in 2024, including outstanding limited or anthology series and awards for lead actor and lead actress. Korean American actor Steven Yeun won outstanding lead actor at the ceremony.

The 78th Emmy Awards will take place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sept. 14.
