Foreign language newspaper association recognizes outstanding reporters
The Foreign Language Newspapers Association of Korea recognized four outstanding reporters at the Korea Press Center in central Seoul on Monday.
Lee Ho-jeong, a senior reporter at the Korea JoongAng Daily, was selected as one of the outstanding reporters of the year during the event celebrating the 7th anniversary of the association.
Lee was credited with providing insight into Korea’s evolving energy policy and the advent of new multilateral trade programs such as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership and the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework.
The other awardees were Lee Hyun-joo, editor of the layout desk at the Korea Herald, Moon Sun-il, general manager at the Korea Times and Wang Haina, a team manager from the Aju Business Daily.
Oh Young-jin, the president-publisher of The Korea Times who doubles as president of the Foreign Language Newspapers Association of Korea, presented the awards.
CEO of the Korea JoongAng Daily Cheong Chul-gun and the chiefs of other foreign-language newspapers were also present.
Other guests included British Ambassador to South Korea Colin Crooks and Chinese ambassador Xing Haiming.
Reporters from the association’s four member newspapers were present to mark the anniversary.
