The merger between Korea Railroad Corporation, or Korail, and SR — operators of the country’s two high-speed rail services, KTX and SRT, respectively — has received final approval from the Fair Trade Commission.

Starting in September, KTX will incorporate SRT services, and fares will be aligned with SRT’s relatively lower rates for three years.
