A Korean American woman was shot and killed in the U.S. state of Georgia in what police believe to be a murder-suicide committed by her husband.

Richard Holladay and his wife, Martha Holladay, whose Korean surname was Oh, were found dead at their home on June 7, according to the Johns Creek Police Department on Thursday.

Police said the incident was a case of domestic violence and concluded that the husband shot and killed his wife before taking his own life, according to the police.

The couple's three children were in the home at the time of the shooting. The eldest son told police that the two had been arguing before gunfire erupted.

Oh had served as a representative for immigrant parents in the Fulton County School District and had worked as an events coordinator at the North Fulton Chamber of Commerce since last year.

The North Fulton County Chamber of Commerce released a statement on Wednesday to mourn her death.

“Martha was a beautiful and talented professional who created and led Chamber events with a passion to make our members feel happy and connected,” the Chamber wrote in a post on Instagram.

“She left a lasting impact on all of us. We mourn her untimely death and pray for her sons who she loved deeply and with all her heart.”

Johns Creek, home to a large Korean population, is often referred to as Georgia's second-largest Koreatown after Duluth.
