![Thicker, more vivid yellow lines printed at a crosswalk in front of Gugal Elementary School in Yongin, Gyeonggi, on Monday. Newly reformed traffic regulations goes into effect Tuesday with crosswalks in front of school zones painted in yellow. The move aims to increase driver awareness and prevent accidents involving children. Police say in a tree-month trial in 12 school zones in seven areas across the country, 89 percent of drivers said the yellow crosswalks made them more aware, while 60 percent said they followed the rules more, including stopping at crosswalks.
