Tropical nights persist after Cheoseo

Residents and vacationers seeking relief from a tropical night greet the morning in the cool sea breeze at Gyeongpo Beach in Gangneung, Gangwon, on Aug. 24. Despite Cheoseo, the traditional seasonal point marking the easing of summer heat, having passed, tropical nights persisted along the east coast of Gangwon, including Gangneung, where the overnight low was 26.4 Celsius (79.5 Fahrenheit), as well as Yangyang and Samcheok, with temperatures staying above 25 Celsius.
