Singers Vernon and The8 of boy band Seventeen will release their first album as a duo unit V8 on June 29, their label Pledis Entertainment said Thursday.

Further details about the upcoming album have not been disclosed as of Thursday.

The unit’s name combines “V” from Vernon and “8” from The8. It embodies the singers’ driving force that moves forward with accelerated speed as v8 engine, according to a press release from the label.

The duo is set to hold its performance – titled “2026 Vernon The8 [V8] Live” at Kintex in Goyang, Gyeonggi, on July 11 and 12, followed by shows at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong on July 18 and 19.

Seventeen debuted in 2015 under Pledis Entertainment, one of HYBE's labels. It has 13 members: S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon and Dino. The group is best known for songs like “Adore U” (2015), “Don’t Wanna Cry” (2017), “Home” (2019), “Left & Right” (2020) and “F*ck My Life” (2023).
