ITZY to headline Mawazine music festival on June 23

K-pop girl group ITZY will headline Moroccan music festival Mawazine on June 23, its agency JYP Entertainment announced Friday.

It is set to perform on the main stage, named OLM Souissi, at 10:30 p.m.

The performance will mark ITZY’s first appearance at the festival.

The festival was first launched in 2001 and has garnered more than 2.5 million spectators annually.

With this year’s headliners including Tiesto, Nicky Jam and Rema, the music festival will kick off on June 19 and run through June 27.

ITZY debuted in 2019 with the song “Dalla Dalla.” The quintet, comprising Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong and Yuna, is best known for songs like “Icy” (2019), “Not Shy” (2020), “Sneakers” (2022) and “Girls Will Be Girls.” On Monday, the group released its 12th EP, “Motto,” with its title track sharing the same name.
