Woori Bank held a seminar to share insights and practical knowledge on U.S. market entry for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) seeking to expand overseas, it said on Thursday.

At the event, which took place a day earlier and was co-hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, industry experts provided guidance on the U.S. market environment and on key services required for entry, including finance, legal, tax, real estate and investment procedures, to help firms establish a foothold abroad. The seminar was a result of surging demand for the establishment of local production facilities amid Korea-U.S. tariff negotiations and a broader rise in protectionism.

“The seminar was designed to give domestic companies access to key information needed for entry into the U.S. market in one place and to minimize early-stage trial and error through consultations with experts,” said Chung Doo Young, the deputy general manager of the global business promotion department at Woori Bank. He added that Woori Bank will continue to strengthen its role as a reliable financial partner and support SMEs in establishing a foothold in global markets.

Representatives of multiple institutions, including Wooribank Global Investment WON Center, Woori America Bank, Korea SMEs and Startups Agency and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, attended the event.
