Boy band CIX to end group activities as contracts end

Boy band CIX will end its group activities with all four members subsequently leaving the agency.

"Since their debut on July 21, 2019, CIX has spent the past seven years sharing many moments with fans through a wide range of activities. At this time, however, the group will be bringing its team activities to a close," said an official statement from the band's agency, C9 Entertainment, that was uploaded to the band's official fan cafe on Wednesday.

"After careful consideration, all parties have come to agree that, under the current circumstances, it is unavoidable to suspend operations as a team," the statement said, adding that the agency and the four members have been in discussion "over the past several months."

BX and Seunghun's exclusive contract with the agency will end on Thursday. Hyunsik, who is currently filming a drama, will receive support from the agency until his contract ends on May 31.

Yonghee, who enlisted for military duty, will enter basic military training on May 11 and his contract will subsequently be terminated upon enlistment.

A "small gathering" will be prepared by C9 Entertainment where fans can bid farewell to Yonghee before his military enlistment, with further details expected to be shared in the future.

CIX debuted as a five-member boy band with members BX, Bae Jin-young, Seunghun, Yonghee and Hyunsuk. Bae, who initially debuted with the project boy band Wanna One in 2017, left the band in 2024.

The band's last Korean album, "'Go' Chapter 1: Go Together," was released on Sept. 8, 2025.
