Lee had quoted National Tax Service (NTS) Commissioner Lim Kwang-hyun's Monday post, in which he pledged to track down hidden overseas assets and ensure that they are taxed.

The NTS announced on Monday that it had retrieved 33.9 billion won ($23 million) in evaded taxes since July of last year from foreigners and nationals living abroad.

“I thank Commissioner Lim Kwang-hyun for his hard work after he gave up his parliamentary seat and took up the post as NTS chief,” Lee added.
