HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), Korea's leading shipbuilder, said Wednesday it has secured a 627 billion won ($424 million) contract to supply power generation equipment to a U.S. energy infrastructure company.

HD HHI's HiMSEN engine-based system, with a total capacity of 684 megawatts, will be installed at a data center operated by Aperion Energy Group, the company said in a press release.

The contract represents the company's largest order for power generation equipment by value and its first such deal in the United States.

The HiMSEN engine combines high output and efficiency with fast start-up and stable load response, making it suitable for data centers that require uninterrupted 24-hour operations.

“This contract will serve as an important foothold for our expansion into the U.S. data center market," a company representative said. "We plan to pursue further opportunities in both the data center and power generation sectors."
