Woori Bank CEO Jung Jin-wan attended the Korea-India business forum in New Delhi on the sidelines of President Lee Jae Myung’s state visit to the country, the bank said on Monday.
At the forum, which brought together leading figures from the business community, Jung met with representatives of major local corporations, shared insights on market conditions and explored ways to expand cooperation with Woori Bank, which operates five branches in the country, including those in Mumbai and Gurugram.
Jung also delivered donations to Akshya Pratisthan, a local school focused on educating underprivileged and disabled children, located in New Delhi. It was part of the bank’s efforts to expand its local social contribution activities, aiming to build trust with communities and strengthen its business foundation in the country.
“The visit provided an opportunity to raise understanding of the Indian market and further strengthen local networks,” Jung said in a statement. “The bank will continue to expand its global business base, building on trust with local communities in India.”
Jung was the only commercial bank CEO to accompany the president on the trip to India.
