One person killed, two injured by moving truck during protest at convenience store logistics site

Police and firefighters are at a CU logistics center in Jinju, South Gyeongsang, on April 20 after a truck crashed into three people during a protest by the Korean Public Service and Transport Workers’ Union. [NEWS1]
One person was killed and two were injured by a moving truck while protesting in front of a convenience store logistics site on Monday.
The incident occurred at around 10:32 a.m. in front of a CU logistics center in Jinju, South Gyeongsang, where members of the Korean Public Service and Transport Workers' Union, affiliated with the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, were holding a protest demanding negotiations with BGF Logis, according to the South Gyeongsang Fire Department.
BGF Retail operates the CU convenience store chain, and BGF Logis, its logistics and transport affiliate, handles delivery and distribution for CU.
A 2.5-ton truck reportedly struck three union members after they stepped in front of the vehicle. One man was transported to a hospital while unresponsive but later died, while the other two members sustained serious and minor injuries and are receiving treatment.
Police and union members are currently in a standoff at the scene. Physical clashes have been reported.
Police plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident by questioning witnesses and the driver.
