HD Hyundai Heavy wins $460 million VLGC order for Middle East-based client

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, Korea's leading shipbuilder, said on Friday that it has secured a 674.7 billion won ($460 million) contract to build four gas carriers for a Middle East-based client.

 
The four very large gas carriers (VLGCs) are scheduled for delivery by November 2029, the company said in a regulatory filing, without disclosing the identity of the shipper.

HD Hyundai Heavy is a key affiliate of HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE), the intermediate holding company of HD Hyundai. Another shipbuilding subsidiary under HD KSOE is Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries.
 
According to HD KSOE, it has secured $8.21 billion in new orders so far this year, achieving 35.2 percent of its annual target of $23.31 billion.
