HD Construction Equipment attributes new excavator's performance to rising fuel prices

HD Construction Equipment's latest 32-ton excavator, the HX320 [HD CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT]

HD Construction Equipment sold more than 60 units of its new 32-ton excavator within three months of its January release, marking a 50 percent increase in sales compared to its predecessor over the same period, the company said on Wednesday.

The company attributed the strong performance to growing global demand for fuel-efficient machinery amid persistently high fuel prices.

The model, the HX320, is powered by HD Construction Equipment’s in-house developed DX08 engine and features a full electrohydraulic system designed to maximize operating efficiency.

Despite delivering higher-rated output than the previous model, the excavator is engineered to achieve peak performance at a significantly lower engine speed of 1,800 revolutions per minute, improving fuel efficiency by 25 percent.

Based on 1,500 operating hours per year, the HX320 can reduce fuel costs by approximately 6.6 million won ($4,480) compared to the earlier model.

HD Construction Equipment plans to further expand its lineup with the launch of a new 32-ton excavator under its Develon brand in the second half of this year.
