McDonald’s Korea will hold the “2026 McDonald’s Happy Walk,” a family-friendly charity walk, at Incheon Munhak Stadium on May 24 to mark Family Month, it said on Thursday.

May is considered Family Month in Korea, and other holidays, such as Children’s Day, Parents’ Day and Teachers’ Day, also fall during this month.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and begin with a donation ceremony, followed by a 3-kilometer (1.9-mile) walk.

The festival will also feature a variety of performances, sponsored booths and a photo zone, offering a wide range of programs for the whole family to enjoy, McDonald’s Korea said.

Now in its third edition, the charity walk will have a capacity for 6,000 participants this year, up 1,000 people from last year. Registration will take place through the event website from April 27 to 28 .

The participation fee is 50,000 won ($34) for adults and 30,000 won for children, which will be donated in full to Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Korea, a nonprofit organization partnered with McDonald’s Korea.

RMHC Korea will use the money to support operations at Pusan National University Yangsan Hospital in South Gyeongsang and to construct the first Ronald McDonald House in the Seoul metropolitan area.

RMHC provides housing and essential support to families with critically ill or injured children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. More than 385 Ronald McDonald Houses are currently in operation across 60 countries worldwide, according to the company.

Those who participate in the walk will receive a pre-event kit consisting of a hat, T-shirt, socks, handkerchief, McDonald’s coupons and a certificate.

Actor Son Ho-jun is also set to attend the event as an ambassador. The actor previously visited the Ronald McDonald House in Yangsan, South Gyeongsang, where he met pediatric patients and their families and delivered gifts to them.

“'Happy Walk' is McDonald’s Korea’s signature Family Month event that offers a meaningful opportunity for the whole family to walk together and put the value of sharing into practice,” a representative of McDonald’s Korea said.

“As this year’s event has been expanded in both scale and programming, we hope that many people will take part, create meaningful memories and join in [...] acts of philanthropy.”
