Drone shows to illuminate Seoul's Han River parks through June 5

Drones will light up the Seoul sky at Han River parks across the city every other week with the "Han River Lights Show."
 
Five performances are scheduled for the first half of the year — April 10, April 25, May 5, May 16 and June 5 — at the Han River parks in Yeouido, Ttukseom and Jamsil.

The first performance on Friday will be “BT21 in Seoul,” and will feature BT21, animated characters inspired by boy band BTS. The performance will take place at Yeouido Hangang Park, in Yeongdeungpo District, western Seoul.
 
The April 25 show will feature characters from Line Friends and take place at Ttukseom Han River Park in Gwangjin District, eastern Seoul.
 
In celebration of Children’s Day on May 5, there will be a special Star Wars-themed drone performance featuring 2,000 drones, in collaboration with the Walt Disney Company Korea, at Jamsil Hangang Park in Songpa District, southern Seoul.

The May 16 performance will take place at Ttukseom Han River Park, with the theme, "Garden of Lights." 
 
The final performance on June 5 at Ttukseom Han River Park will extend the Sium Sium Hangang Festival, an annual sports event held across Han River parks that day, featuring activities including a triathlon.
 
Drone light shows will start at 8:30 p.m. and last 15 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of mini drone shows featuring over 300 drones. Participants can also enjoy street music performances before and after the drone shows.
 
The city will limit public Wi-Fi networks during the drone show as a safety measure. 
 
The event is free to the public.
 
The drones, along with other musical performances, are part of the “Seoul Spring Festival,” a citywide celebration of spring that begins on Friday. Participants can enjoy a variety of events throughout the parks along the river, including swimming pools, scavenger hunts and carousels. The festival begins on Friday and ends on May 5.
