Appeals court to rule in Yoon obstruction case on April 29

The Seoul High Court will deliver an appeals ruling on former President Yoon Suk Yeol's obstruction case on April 29.
 
The announcement comes after the special counsel team on Monday sought a 10-year prison sentence for Yoon during the appeals hearing.

Yoon was previously found guilty in a lower court of blocking investigators from the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials from detaining him.
 
The former president is currently facing eight separate trials related to his botched declaration of martial law on Dec. 3, 2024, allegations of corruption involving his wife and the death of a Marine in 2023.
 
In the central case, a court in February sentenced him to life in prison for leading an insurrection by declaring martial law.
