It took a mere 53.39 seconds for a Bulgari white gold necklace to find a new owner and under 70 seconds for a Saint Laurent shoulder bag to be sold on Bunjang, a secondhand marketplace.

Online secondhand shopping is no longer just about finding a bargain; it’s about buying and selling luxury items efficiently, according to Bunjang on Tuesday.

To prove its point, Bunjang revealed in its 2025 Luxury Secondhand Report that 39 million items were listed on the platform that year, with the total number of transactions rising by 52 percent on year. Notably, the jewelry category experienced a 381 percent on-year surge in transaction value.

Bunjang named the ongoing trend “recommerce-literate,” in which the demographic considers luxury items as something they can cash in instead of owning for the long term. This explains how the Bulgari White gold B.zero1 Necklace was sold on the platform in 53.39 seconds, a Saint Laurent Matelassé shoulder bag in 69.52 seconds and a Ferragamo Iconic Top Handle bag in 73.51 seconds upon their listing last year.

The platform has also sold some luxury items at eye-watering prices. For example, the Rolex GMT-Master II yellow-gold watch sold for a whopping 51.5 million won ($35,000), followed by a Hermès Kelly Mini II bag and a Birkin bag at 31 million won and 29 million won, respectively. Bunjang said the transactions of such high-priced luxury items represent the consumer’s trust in its anticounterfeit measure: the Corelytics solution, which helps prevent fake products from circulating on the platform.

The trend of purchasing luxury items through Bunjang is present overseas, with North America being the primary driver. North American customers bought over 51.7 percent of the luxury items sold internationally on the platform, with a Louis Vuitton briefcase worth 6.5 million won and a Visvim jacket priced at 5 million won being some of the most expensive items sold overseas.
