Korea Investment & Securities signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with J.P. Morgan Asset Management to expand J.P. Morgan’s global investment solutions and market insights to local investors, as well as cooperate on growing the Korea Investment Holdings' affiliate's overseas subsidiaries.

 
Under the MOU, J.P. Morgan Asset Management, which manages $4.2 trillion in assets, will provide Korea Investment & Securities’ retail clients with exclusive access to its global market insights through the Korean brokerage.

The two companies will also hold regular exchanges on investment strategies and jointly host investor events for Korea Investment & Securities' clients, the Korean firm said.
 
The deal will combine J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s global research and investment capabilities with Korea Investment & Securities’ domestic distribution network, as the brokerage seeks to attract more retail investors.
 
Korea Investment & Securities began exclusive sales of J.P. Morgan's monthly payout high-yield fund for domestic investors from March 9.
 
It plans to expand its offering of financial products linked to global growth stocks, bonds and other underlying assets.
 
The signing ceremony took place on Tuesday at Korea Investment & Securities' headquarters in Yeouido, western Seoul, with J.P. Morgan Asset Management APAC CEO Dan Watkins, Korea Investment & Securities CEO Miller Sunghwan Kim and other senior executives present.

"We will continue to strengthen our global financial network so domestic investors can more easily participate in blue-chip opportunities in the global market and grow their assets," Kim said.
